So the holidays are approaching along with the old birthday and everything else. Actually this ended up being quite the year. Funny how perception makes all the difference in the world. Kind of like music and production. Produce something one way and it's utter shineola, do it a different way and interpreted bliss follows. Same goes for anything really. What's the difference between craft and crap, not much. Yet I still believe that somewhere lies in everyone a tiny spark of creativity even the happy managers with a heart of coal and a pinched face to match. Oh well my home life calls and all that goes with. I'll work on this some more one day. Meditate and enjoy the world.
Show us something you hold dear.

My wife's hand which I consider dear holding a silly tape measure which I do find dear.
Do something today. Make the world a wee bit better. Be compassionate and strong. Most of all just breathe. It's funny how everyone contemplates this, that and the other but really how far does contemplation get you. Celebrate the earth and all her majesty. Relish the company of friends and family. Never forget and yet be aware that you can let go of things. Life is beautiful and with the sun shining through the window it is time to embrace it.
So the holidays are upon us and the liqour cabinet is going to stay stocked. That I promise. Movies this last week. This last week myself and the missus went out with old friends on two seperate occasions and both involved movies. The first movie was the new Brad Pitt thing called Babel. Now I like odd quirky art house movies but for some reason this one just didn't do it for me. I don't know if it was the night or the mood or whatever. First the movie gave me a raging headache from the music secondly it just never worked plain and simple. There are not a great deal of movies that make me want to get up and leave but this was one of those movies. Like I said I don't know why but hey there you are.
The other night I had the honor of accompanying old friends to Casino Royale. New Bond and all I thought why night. Pleasantly surprised. Good action sequences, some interesting action scenes and a plot to boot. I need to scrounge the basement and see if I can find some of those Ian Fleming books. Afterwards we talked about the movie and the different Bonds from over the years. It's funny I think at one time I held an opinion now the movies and the memories of them all blend together. So, I like them all. In general I've liked most of the Bond movies over the year. Sometimes an entertaining movie really makes an evening.
Since this is Thanksgiving weekend and all I should give thanks. That's all I'm thankful for everything. Sure people suck and sometimes you wish a truck would run you down and splat your head like a melon but until that time I'm damn happy to be here on this planet. So thanks, there you go.
The bags are picked well proverbially of course and it looks like once again the move is afoot. Office moves are never truly enjoyable but hey a new beginning is about to occur. Actually the state of things looks pretty good. There is lots to learn and hopefully more to enjoy. The holidays are about to begin something to dread and yet something to look forward to kind of like sleep. Wish there was more to say but I'm dreaming of going home.
What's your favorite Thanksgiving dish?

Is there such a thing as favorite anything or are there things you just enjoy more than anything else in the world. If that's the case it's a toss up between pie and rolls with gravy. Thanksgiving gravy is simply the stuff dreams are made out of, just the right amounts of badness mixed with the good stuff and then sopped up with buttery light rolls. Yum! Then again nothing beats pie and that is truly one of the miracles that Thanksgiving brings us all. The best part is different pies and a never ending sea of whipped cream. I'll be thinking of this for a couple of days and then I'll get to consume those dreams of grandeur with a smile that could stop a train.
If you're reincarnated, what do you think you'll come back as?

When I first read the question my first response was a flea or a small insect. Then I started thinking about what the question was asking. Is it ok to answer a question with a question, because if it is then I would answer I don't know what would I come back as. The whole life, death, whatever thing gets asked and talked about but in the end that's all it is. You and I will find out when we get there. Hopefully that time is later than sooner but that time isn't now. So for now anyway I'll work on improving myself and improving my level of compassion for other beings.
So the other day, away from work at this conference. Lunch time rolls around and the group I'm with head out to lunch. Nothing to write home about here, stopped at a place and got a quick bite. Looking at the old clock the realization sinks in that none of us has to return for at least an hour. Being in Columbia MO with naturally a slew of college students everywhere my thoughts turned to record stores and coffee shops with which we hit.
The first place was a place called the something exchange. Lots of vinyl and used cds galore. I snagged a Lookout Records compilation, a cd by Untamed Youth, and another cd by the Kaballahs. The woman working the counter being quite nice directed us down the street to another store by the 9th Street Deli. Being kind gentleman she asked us if we were really going and we responded yeah. She then asked if we could deliver a muffin to the owner. So we did. That store also was quite nice, Columbia is fun of way cool people. Funny how record stores can change and morph into different retail areas. This guy had lots of very cool dvds from different places and featured all sorts of bands. Mental note to visit his place again, http://kevinsworld06.com
No need to talk about the conference or the coffee, perhaps another day. It's a personal mission to work up to dropping by on a daily basis. Time to go home and enjoy the rain.
